    Tanjung Priok Port Removed from the War Prone Port List

    JAKARTA – The Joint War Committee (JWC), a committee representing UK-based securities firms, removed Port of Tanjung Priok from the port-prone harbor list.

    In JWC publication released today (25/6/2018), Tanjung Priok Port is no longer listed in the list that was updated on June 14, 2018. In fact, in the previous publication, the Port of Tanjung Priok or Port of Jakarta is still listed in the list of zones prone to war.

    JWC launch, there are five waters are categorized as a war risk that is Africa region, including Libya, Somalia, Nigeria and Togo. Then the Indian Ocean covers the Indian Ocean, the Arabian Sea, the Gulf of Eden, the Gulf of Oman and the Red Sea.

    Furthermore, the waters are considered vulnerable to Pakistan, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Yemen, and Venezuela.

    To note, the cost of insurance premiums charged to the ship owner will increase if the ship docked or sailed in waters that are categorized as prone zone of war.

    ALFI Urges Progressive Package Fee Exemption in Priok During Lebaran Holiday

    JAKARTA – Indonesian Logistics and Forwarders Association urged the exemption of the imposition of the progressive cost of the accumulation of imported containers at Tanjung Priok Port during the Idul Fitri holiday period this year.

    ALFI: Overbrengen Container Preferably Night

    JAKARTA-The Indonesian Logistics and Forwarders Association (ALFI) proposes that the movement of imported or overbrengen containers from first-line container terminals to temporary hoarding stations (TPS) in the Tanjung Priok customs territory shall be conducted at night or after 18.00 WIB.

    Chairman of ALFI DKI Jakarta, Widijanto said that the overbrengen of imported containers passing the time limit of the congestion at the port of Priok if carried out at night will reduce the level of congestion on the distribution line from and to the port of Priok.

    “If the night is done overbrengen imported containers, can be faster considering the roads around the port of Priok is not too crowded,” said Widijanto to Bisnis, Monday (21/05/2018).

    He also proposed that the overbrengen of imported containers at the port of Priok be done only at night has been delivered in the audience of Jakarta DPF ALFI board with the Head of Customs and Excise Service Office of Tanjung Priok Port today (21/5/2018).

    IPC Boost Export Cargo


    JAKARTA – PT Pelabuhan Indonesia II (Persero) or Indonesia Port Corporation (IPC) will boost export cargoes in line with the opening of direct voyage (direct call) from Tanjung Priok Port. The increase in export cargo is expected to contribute to the company’s 10% container flow growth target by 2018.

    President Director of IPC, Elvyn G. Masassya said since 2017 Tanjung Priok Port has been serving direct calls to the United States and Europe with a vessel with a capacity of 8,000 TEUs. Now, Tanjung Priok arrives larger ship, the CMA CGM Tage measuring 10,000 TEUs, following the Salalah APL ship with a capacity of 10,642 TEUs that have stopped on 3 May 2018 ago.

    JAKARTA – Tanjung Priok Port returns the arrival of a giant container vessel that can accommodate 10,000 TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent unit). Large ships are expected to reduce container shipping costs while increasing the competitiveness of national export products.

    Based on business monitoring at Tanjung Priok Port, large vessels leaning against the CMA CGM Tage. This Malta-flagged ship will carry cargo from Jakarta to Los Angeles, United States.

    According to the plan, President Joko Widodo will review port infrastructure as well as export discharges transported by CMA CGM Tage ship. To note, this ship is one of the vessels that routinely serve direct call or Jakarta-Los Angeles direct voyage.

    CMA CGM Takes 10,642 TEUs to the Port of Tanjung Priok

    JAKARTA – French shipping company CMA CGM again brought a giant container ship to Tanjung Priok Port to serve a direct route to the United States.

    In an official statement received by Business Friday (4/5/2018), CMA CGM brought the giant ship APL Salalah capacity of 10,642 TEUs (10,642 containers) on Wednesday (3/5/2018). This ship incised a new history as the largest container ship ever docked in Tanjung Priok.

    APL Salalah leaned on the Jakarta International Container Terminal terminal (JICT) with up to 1,666 TEUs and loaded 2,818 TEUs. As a result, the total loading and unloading of the vessel reached 4,484 TEUs in its maiden voyage to Indonesia.

    CMA CGM Ready to Bring Jumbo Ship 10,000 TEUs

    JAKARTA – The world’s third largest shipping company, CMA CGM, will bring a 10,000 TEU container vessel to Tanjung Priok Port in late April 2018. This plan is in line with increasing demand from service users who are claimed to continue to grow.

    President Director of CMA CGM Indonesia Farid Belbouab said since April 2017 the company opened a direct shipping route from Jakarta to Los Angeles, USA. The route called JAX Services enables faster delivery of containers, which is 23 days compared to an indirect route for 30 days.

    “We started with 8,000 TEUs since last year and the result is very successful, gradually we bring larger vessels, 9,000 TEUs and 10,000 TEUs, even close to 11,000 TEUs,” he explained after ANL Meet Customer in Jakarta, Monday (9/4 / 2018) night.

    Certification of Export Inventory Gross Weights, JICT Cooperates with BKI

    JAKARTA – The export / verified gross mass (VGM) container weeding activity at the Port of Tanjung Priok will involve PT Biro Klasifikasi Indonesia (BKI) as the issuer of VGM certification documents.

    Vice President Director of PT Jakarta International Container Terminal (JICT) Riza Erivan said the involvement of ICC in the export container VGM certification process is expected to begin in the near future or at the latest by March 2018.

    “Now depends on the readiness of BKI. From our side as container terminal manager is ready because VGM has been implemented since 2 years ago in container terminal of Priok port import export, “he told Bisnis on Tuesday (27/2/2018).

    He said the container terminal operators in Priok have established communication and coordinated with related business actors related to the involvement of BKI in the export container VGM certification.

    ALFI Highlight Service Efficiency & Zero Accident at Container Terminal

    JAKARTA – The Indonesian Logistics and Forwarders Association (ALFI) highlighted the commitment of all container terminal operators in Tanjung Priok Port, Jakarta, on the efficiency of loading and unloading services as well as paying attention to safety factors to avoid work accidents.

    Chairman of ALFI DKI Jakarta Widijanto said the commitment of service efficiency in the port should not sacrifice the safety factor that affects the disruption of port service must be implemented in all terminal facilities.
