    PT Angkasa Pura I (Persero) will increase the air side capacity of several airports to support IMF-World Bank Annual Meeting on 8 – 14 October 2018 in Bali.

    President Director of AP I Faik Fahmi said various forms of readiness include increasing the capacity of Airport I Gusti Ngurah Rai Bali and build the infrastructure of the five other airports managed by the SOE.

    Faik explained that the increase in the capacity of Airport I Gusti Ngurah Rai was done through the expansion of the aircraft parking lot (apron) so that the capacity increased to 64 parking booth from the previous condition 53 parking stand.

    In addition, he added, the addition of two rapid exit taxiway to a total of four rapid exit taxiway. The move is expected to increase the aircraft’s movement capacity from 30 aircraft per hour to 33 aircraft per hour.

    On the other hand, improvements are made to the international check-in counter that will be expanded and expanded from 96 units of 2,470 m2 to 126 units with an area of ​​4,420 m2. The side of the capacity of the vehicle parking on the land side will be added as many as 1,600 units.

    “The passenger capacity will increase to 22,650 passengers per day, exceeding the expected number of delegates to 17,000,” he said.

    AP I has prepared an expansion program of alternative airports as a precaution if the movement of aircraft exceeds the capacity of APR Apron I Gusti Ngurah Rai.

    The airport that is done by the expansion is the first, Juanda Airport Surabaya with the addition of the number of parking stand equivalent to seven units of narrow body aircraft or three units of wide body aircraft.

    Second, Sultan Hasanuddin Airport Makassar with the addition of the number of parking booth equivalent of six units of narrow body aircraft or three units of wide body aircraft.

    Third, Lombok Praya Airport with an additional number of parking booths equivalent to eight units of narrow body aircraft or four units of wide body aircraft.

    Fourth, Adi Soemarmo Airport Solo with an additional number of parking booths equivalent to six units of narrow body aircraft or three units of wide body aircraft. Fifth, El Tari Airport Kupang with the addition of the equivalent of five units of small aircraft.

    Faik said the apron expansion target for Surabaya Juanda Airport, Sultan Hasanuddin Airport Makassar and Lombok Praya Airport is targeted to be completed and start operation in October 2018, while for Adi Soemarmo Airport Solo and El Tari Airport Kupang can be completed and start operation in September and August 2018 .

    The Ministry of Transportation, he added, also provided support by expanding the apron of Blimbingsari Airport in Banyuwangi to accommodate the equivalent of four narrow body aircraft and two ATR aircraft.

    The event will be attended by 17,000 delegates from 189 countries, including 189 finance ministers, 189 heads of central banks and 23 heads of state.
