Dubes RI untuk Polandia Peter F. Gontha

JAKARTA – House of Representatives Commission V visits a working visit to Poland to seek alternative and technological utilization opportunities for transportation and transportation management industries.

During a working visit to Poland, the delegation of Commission V of the House of Representatives (DPR RI) had organized a series of field trips with the Indonesian Embassy in Warsaw which included meetings with Ursus, with the Deputy Minister of Maritime Economy, Port Authority of Gdansk and the largest shipyard industry director in Poland, Remontowa.

In front of the delegation of Commission V of the House of Representatives, Ursus expressed his strong desire to enter the Indonesian market. Given that Indonesia is one of the countries that agreed on the Paris Climate Environment Agreement, Ursus offers full electric or hybrid buses that can be tailored to the needs of Indonesia.

Indonesian Ambassador of Warsaw Peter F. Gontha explained that the potential of Poland, especially in the transportation industry sector, has not been recognized by the stakeholders in Indonesia.

“Through this congregation, it is expected that the DPR-RI can convey a number of potential and cooperation opportunities that exist in Poland to the decision makers in Indonesia, private and government,” he wrote in an official statement received by Bisnis, Friday (25/08/2017) .

Gontha claims goods and technology offered by Poland in terms of cheaper price compared to similar technology from other developed countries and have very good quality according to the standard of the European Union agreement.

The chairman of the delegation as well as Vice Chairman of Commission V of the House, Michael Watimena said it is currently the right moment for cooperation with Poland.

Poland’s strategic position in the middle of Europe and its infrastructure development progress have also contributed greatly to the growth and development of the country and can be the center of connectivity of Indonesia’s maritime relations with central Europe.

Gontha added that with this strategic position Poland can become an important hub, not just to Central Europe but also Scandinavian and Baltic countries.

“To increase connectivity Embassy of Warsaw expects cooperation between Garuda Indonesia and LOT Polish Airlines in the plan of opening regular commercial flights and increasing tourism from central and northern Europe,” he added.
