JAKARTA-The Indonesian Logistics and Forwarders Association (ALFI) proposes that the movement of imported or overbrengen containers from first-line container terminals to temporary hoarding stations (TPS) in the Tanjung Priok customs territory shall be conducted at night or after 18.00 WIB.

Chairman of ALFI DKI Jakarta, Widijanto said that the overbrengen of imported containers passing the time limit of the congestion at the port of Priok if carried out at night will reduce the level of congestion on the distribution line from and to the port of Priok.

“If the night is done overbrengen imported containers, can be faster considering the roads around the port of Priok is not too crowded,” said Widijanto to Bisnis, Monday (21/05/2018).

He also proposed that the overbrengen of imported containers at the port of Priok be done only at night has been delivered in the audience of Jakarta DPF ALFI board with the Head of Customs and Excise Service Office of Tanjung Priok Port today (21/5/2018).

Widijanto said that in addition to overbrengen, ALFI also proposed that the physical inspection of containers of imported red lane should be returned after the containers are returned to the container terminal location or line one.

Anything, related to the policy of restrictions on trucking operations in the morning on the toll road starting at 06.00 s / d 09.00 Wib has affected the activities at the port of Priok.

“For that reason, ALFI expects the evaluation of the policy of restriction on trucking operational hours in the morning, since the policy greatly influences the slowdown of port logistics services,” he explained.

Widijanto said all stakeholders in the port of Priok to anticipate as early as possible the port density ahead of Idul Fitri this year, due to the increasing volume of imports, especially for basic needs and finished goods.

He mentioned that the occupancy rate of yard occupancy ratio (YOR) at the port of Priok should be maintained should not be more than 65% in order to avoid congestion and the difficulties of container maneuvers in the field.

“You see, congestion and port density usually occur because of the lack of balance between availability and productivity of facilities including its human resources rather than the increase in the volume of goods / containers served,” he explained.

Widijanto said, to unravel congestion and density in the Priok port distribution access should involve all related parties, including business actors.
