• ALFI Governing Council retreat from the Port Council Board

Jakarta – The Indonesian logistics and forwarder association (ALFI) of DKI Jakarta stated that the association is not part of the membership or management of the Port Council Board.

It was affirmed through the letter of DPW ALFI DKI Jakarta No. 0130 / DPW-ALFI / DKI / IX / 17 dated 14 September 2017 signed by the Head of ALFI DKI Widijanto and Secretary General Adil Karim addressed to the Chairman of the Sungkono Ali Port Council.

“The letter confirms that Jakarta ALFI has never been a part, let alone a member of the Port Council,” said Head of ALFI DKI, Widijanto to Bisnis.com, Friday (22/09/2017).

Widijanto argues, as a non-governmental organization, the legal basis of the Port Council is not strong and is not part of the implementation of the Shipping Law or the Government Regulation on Port.

Widijanto said, quoting the Jakarta ALFI letter, the board and coach of DPW ALFI DKI Jakarta that as many as four people, which has been determined by the Advisory Board / Port Board coach, also declared resignation on the grounds of not providing benefits for organizations and communities in the harbor environment.

The Letter of DPW of ALFI also stated that in carrying out its activities the Board of Ports prioritizes the interests of groups or groups and not for the welfare of the public of the port as well as the impact to the improvement of port performance.

The letter was also forwarded to the Head of Tanjung Priok Port Authority, Head of Tanjung Priok Port, Tanjung Priok Customs and Excise Head of KPU, IPC / Pelindo II Directors and Subsidiaries, and related associations. (K1)
