Gunung Agung’s volcanic activity to this day is still fluctuating. If the trend of decreasing earthquake activity, Volcanology and Geological Hazard Mitigation (PVMBG) Ministry of ESDM will evaluate the next week.

“If there is a trend of decreasing the seismicity, it means we are still evaluating the future, because we are still waiting for the data again. At least a week ahead, we see the level of seismic like what this week ahead,” explained Head of Volcano Mitigation PVMBG I Gede Suantika, Tuesday 3/10/2017) found in Post Observation Gunungapi Agung, Rendang Village, Karangasem, Bali.

Asked, with the decrease in intensity of seismicity, is it likely that there will be a decline in the status of Mount Agung? Asked so, it will see first the development of Gunung Agung activity a week ahead.

“The condition of Gunung Agung is still critical, we will see the next week, whether there will be a decrease in the number of earthquakes, if there is a decrease, we will evaluate the status,” said Suantika. Suantika explained, recorded to this day Mount Agung is still critical, and seismic is still fluctuating.

“Mount Agung has not been erupted since the earthquake level is still high enough today, the number of earthquakes to this day, the average is still 400-500 times deep volcanic earthquake, 300 more shallow volcanic, and 30 times more occur local tectonics. “The stagnation is still volatile,” he explained.
