Garuda Indonesia Ranked Among the World’s Top Ten Airlines in Skytrax Evaluation

The Jakarta Post reports that Garuda Indonesia continues to fly high in the eyes of the British-based airline consultancy Skytrax by retaining his “five-star airline” classification. Meanwhile, the Garuda low-cost subsidiary, Citilink is rated with four-stars by Skytrax.

The recertification took place at the Singapore Airshow on Thursday, February 8, 2018, where Garuda’s president director, Pahala N. Mansury, was handed a certifications of renewal by Skytrax’s CEO Edward Paisted.

Pahala paid homage to the management and staff of Garuda Indonesia and their commitment to providing high-quality service to the public. Said Pahala: “The achievement is of great importance for Garuda because the Skytrax airline rating system is an instrument to measure service quality. It could improve the airline’s competitiveness.”

The Skytrax CEO lavished praise on the Indonesian national carriers for its continuing commitment to high standards. “Amid tough competition in the aviation industry, Garuda Indonesia managed to maintain its service quality standards,” Paisted added.

Skytrax audits 200 airlines worldwide with only 10 carriers qualifying for the coveted five-star rating. The remaining nine airlines ranked as the very best are: Singapore Airlines, Cathay Pacific, EVA Air, Qatar Airways, Etihad, Asiana Airline, All Nippon Airlines, Hainan Airlines and Lufthansa.
