Ayodya Resort Bali Nyepi Package March 16-18, 2018

From sunrise on Saturday, March 17, 2018, until the following morning, the entire Island of Bali commences Nyepi – Bali-Hindu New Year (1 Saka 1940) – a 24-hour period of mediation, introspection and absolute island-wide silence.

Airports and seaports close, streets empty, businesses close, and homes are shuddered for 24 hours as an eerie silence descends over the entire Island of Bali. Local rules and regulations demand that visitors in Bali during “Nyepi” be required to stay within the confines of their hotel grounds until sunrise on March 18th.

A magical and mystical experience, many guests come to Bali to specifically “enjoy the silence” of “Nyepi” offered at the Ayodya Resort Bali. Families and couples reconnect as they join a range of relaxing and cultural experiences available throughout the hotel’s extensive grounds. Visit the Bale Banjar to learn the intricacies of making Balinese offerings; study Balinese dance and music; or try your hand at fruit carving or painting. Children will be invited to join members of the staff who will lead them in feeding the large population of fish that inhabit the Resort’s lagoon; get their hair braided; learn the Japanese art of origami; join a treasure hunt; or be dressed up as Balinese princes and princesses. Meanwhile, moms and dads can join yoga classes alongside the Gazebo Infinity Pool; exercise in the gym; participate in an Aqua Aerobics Class; play a fast-moving basketball game in the pool; or join matches of table tennis, darts or Bacci on the beach.

While cable television services to the Island are suspended during “Nyepi,” the hotel will present a program of in-house movies to keep guests entertained and supply free WiFi service in all public areas of the hotel.

Best of all, with the lights off or dimmed over most of the island, please consider grabbing a lounge chair on the beach to watch the stars come out in splendid force – unfettered by the normal illumination emitted from the homes of Bali’s 3 million resident now cloaked in darkness.

Special rates available exclusively for the “Nyepi” period from 16-18 March 2018 are:
